Automatically close issues when merging a MR into a non-stable base branch
GitLab automatically closes issues mentioned as Closes: #XXX
in a MR when the target branch is stable
. It does not do so when the target branch is another of our base branches: testing
, devel
. It would be great to fix that.
This is quite frequently forgotten. It only impacts when doing RCs (so testing is used), or when merging big new features into devel
, or when working toward a Debian migration (which often isn’t even a base branch, but maybe should be, or at least be included for this monitoring?). The impact is pretty low, however, but it could lead to duplicated work and the need for nagging by human beings.
