systemd: Use name instead of description in unit status messages
Currently, unit status messages are logged like this in the journal:
Started Journal Service.
Finished Load Kernel Modules.
Starting Anonymizing overlay network for TCP...
With this change, the messages are logged like this instead:
Started systemd-journald.service.
Finished systemd-modules-load.service.
Starting tor@default.service...
This makes it easier to search for unit status messages in the journal by pasting the unit name.
Note that in Tails 6.0, we will have a systemd version which also supports StatusUnitFormat=combined
, which will print both the name and description:
Started systemd-journald.service - Journal Service.
Finished systemd-modules-load.service - Load Kernel Modules.
Starting tor@default.service - Anonymizing overlay network for TCP...
There is #19479 (closed) to track that. Until then, IMO just having the name instead of the description already helps reading the journal.
