Allow new TCA to be closed via Escape (Esc) keyboard key
New TCA pops up so quickly and conveniently when a NIC is newly connected, but it is not as easy experience to dismiss once it connects.
I'd propose a small but useful UX improvement to the new TCA: either at any time of the window's operation, or definitely once it connects (as per user's chosen connection preferences), it should be dismissable via Esc
. It does not need to affect its functionality, it merely swats the window away. Once connected, one wants to very quickly move on.
This annoyance is from daily experience with new TCA. Why it feels correct to close via Esc
is because it pops up so easily and 'lightly' (sometimes back and forth if you're connecting/disconnecting Ethernet in a single session). It doesn't feel like a substantive window that should need as much protection as a minimum Alt-F4 to close it.
Other custom Tails windows with an X button can be dismissed with a quick Esc
, like the Tails update notification dialog (and that is an important box). So this would fit with that.
