Decide what to do with documentation about very old migrations

Translators are pointing out that pages such as /doc/first_steps/persistence/upgrade shouldn’t be translated anymore, especially by new teams. This applies to all very old “news” or documentation about migration (at some point about “Claws Mail → Icedove”). Still it might be nice to keep them around as historical documents or to support very rare cases.
As we likely don’t want to make the expression for
po_translatable_pages
of ikiwiki grow for each one of these pages, it
would be good to find a generic solution. I see four:
- a. Do nothing. These pages should mention clearly that they refer to a given version of Tails and translators should have enough insight about the life of the project to be able to skip them without additional information.
- b. Add notes to translators on these pages in an HTML comment to make it clear that these pages are relevant only for some point in time and should not be translated after some time.
- c. Erase these pages completely. This cleans our working tree but deletes history with no consideration for rare cases.
- d. Move after some time these pages to a different place that’s untranslated by default. This requires a bit more work than c. and will loose already existing translations (unlike a. and b.).
Maybe option b. is the best.
What do translators think?
