gtk-abspath-launch fails to start some .desktop files

For instance

/usr/local/bin/gtk-abspath-launch /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.TextEditor.desktop

doesn't start the text editor, and there is nothing odd in the journal:

If I run the command again then it starts.

Other affected .desktop files:

• /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.DiskUtility.desktop
• /usr/share/applications/fr.romainvigier.MetadataCleaner.desktop
• /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Nautilus.desktop
• /usr/share/applications/org.boum.tails.AdditionalSoftware.desktop

They start just fine on first try through gtk-launch.
