This is part of our 2023 goals, as part of our 3 year strategy:

The fact that Tails doesn't support things like mobile messaging or making video calls has been increasingly flagged in feedback from our users and from potential users, while not being of major interest to anti-personas, it seems. We will aim to improve this over the next three years and ideally start shipping improvements/features.
