Allow changing boot options permanently

Sorry if this is a duplicate, but I've only just started using Tails OS and I have to keep modifying the boot options to include a workaround for a known issue (namely "Graphics corruption in Tor Browser and Thunderbird") and I'm wondering if there's any way to make it so that the code to fix this always runs when Tails boots up. Sorry if I'm in the wrong place to post this.

Next steps:

Tech writing:

  • (If @sajolida agrees) Add the semi-persistent workaround instructions somewhere in our docs

Foundations team:

  • Get better data about how often users need kernel commandline workarounds.
  • If it looks bad enough, write a simple GUI for this, and make the Upgrader and Installer reapply the workarounds after upgrading.
