Nautilus cannot open a plugged Tails Persistent Storage anymore

reported by user, confirmed by me:

Steps to reproduce:

  • Start Tails
  • Plug another Tails to it
  • Give the passphrase for the Persistent Storage

Error:

  • Nautilus tells me: "This location could not be displayed. You do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of "TailsData".

What should happen (and was happening before Tails 4.13):

  • The directory should open and be browsable with Nautilus

I am not sure if this situation is intentional, but certainly breaks the workflow of several people that may often exchange files from one Tails to another (like me)

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
