Review our decision on pinentry for Wayland
Some 4 years ago, we decided to use pinentry-gtk2 instead of pinentry-gnome3 (#11099 (closed)). I understand that this was a usability/security tradeoff: pinentry-gtk2 worked better with KeePassX while being more vulnerable to malicious X.org apps.
I just wanted to check if we were still comfortable with this tradeoff. It seems to me that our thoughts on the security of X.org had progressed a bit. We're also preparing for Wayland (#12213 (closed)) and several years of development have passed at GNOME and KeePassXC.
Should we have a look at what would happen to KeePassXC and pinentry once in Wayland? If the integration would get broken, we might as well break it now and get more security. If the integration is handle in some smart way with Wayland, we might keep the status quo until Wayland.
