Documentation for Translating with Git: Pre-commit Hook Issues
For the "Translate Tails and its website using Git" page, there is an issue with the fifth step—that is, the one entitled "Install the pre-commit hook:" that merely setting the "script in ./bin/pre-commit-translation [. . .] up as documented in the comments on top of that file" will not work, since the jenkins-tools repository required for this script to function correctly needs to be cloned into the relevant folder, at least in my experience. The python3-polib and i18nspector packages need to be installed as well for this script to function.
Given these circumstances, I believe that specifying that the jenkins-tools repository needs to be cloned with the current working directory of ~/Persistent/tails/submodules and that python3-polib and i18nspector need to be installed for translating with Git to function in this documentation would improve it. However I am not sure if perhaps there is another—better—way to go about this; hence I am posting this issue here in case anyone can aid in this.
Thank you for your time.
