Outreach/feedback: using the fediverse to communicate about tails
Originally created by @syster on #17509 (Redmine)
fediverse is still a niche as social media, but one with many interested
in secure communication and one with a higher ratio of people in need of
secure communication. (personal observation)
Many developers hanging out there, and it has an overall strong focus on
undoing oppressive/toxic behavior.
(for those not knowing what the fediverse is: a dezentralized social
network with many federating plattforms. Federation protocol is
ActifityPub. The most known plattform of it is mastodon)
The Tor Project is already present there with around 8k followers. https://mastodon.social/@torproject
So it’s not only that in the fediverse there is a higher percentage of people interested in such topic, but that there is also a very valuable reach.
As a user that tries to give support to tails, I created a new personal
account, that has a focus on tails.
It is here: https://social.linux.pizza/@syster
I would propose to the devs to create an official tails account, or/and personal accounts with focus on tails dev.
