re. <https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2019-3462>: Content
injection in APT http method when using redirects:
< lamby> Do we need to do anything re. CVE-2019-3462?
[…]
< intrigeri> lamby: glad you're asking wrt. the APT vuln. I think there are 3 aspects:
< intrigeri> 1. Tails runtime: we're as good as we can be: we're only using Onion services in APT sources
< intrigeri> 2. build system: there's probably a time in the process where current basebox uses an outdated APT. could make sense to force a basebox refresh so debootstrap picks the right version straight from Stretch 9.7, without depending on a follow-up upgrade to fix it.
< intrigeri> 3. infra: groente is on it and bertagaz is on duty, I'll let them handle it :)
< intrigeri> => action item for (2): confirm we have a problem (looks like it, a build from yesterday started with 1.4.8 and then upgraded to 1.4.9); then file a ticket + prepare a PR that forces a basebox build from scratch. a dummy commit under vagrant/ would do. surely there's a typo to fix or a comment to add :)
< intrigeri> lamby: makes sense? do you want to take it
< lamby> intrigeri: sure

As seen during the full testsuite runs for the 3.11 release, the
“Chatting with some friend over XMPP in a multi-user chat” test fails.
Even if we have HTTP-level redirections in place, it might be worth
investigating replacing `labs.riseup.net` with `redmine.tails.boum.org`
in various places; but that particular bug needs another tweak, which
you’ll find attached: the `<title>` tag is checked and that one has
changed after the move to a dedicated Redmine instance:
- title = 'Roadmap - Tails - RiseupLabs Code Repository'
+ title = 'Roadmap - Tails - Tails Ticket Tracker'
This test passed with that patch applied on top of stable at release
time.

This looks like a systemd bug:
- <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1805358>
It happens only rarely, is unlikely to affect human users, and is
[probably fixed in systemd
v240](https://github.com/systemd/systemd/commit/25a1ab4ed48b72e974f77a68dcbe3521014787bb).
So for now, let’s ignore this and if it gets too painful, upgrade to
systemd v240.

aufs4-standalone upgraded from
01543e47eae7653c7e9a35a7204301f8a0b3ca50 to
bdda97c749604bb9ea3f19e0c1ffac9042e79f77 → I doubt that matters
because our stable branch also includes this change and there, the
tests pass
- `debian` APT snapshot updated from 2018100901 to 2018101503 which
includes at least systemd 237-3\~bpo9+1 → 239-7\~bpo9+1
Sadly, the build artifacts for these 2 ISO build jobs and most of the
relevant APT snapshots have been GC’ed already. Still, comparing the
`.build-manifest` for the last successful builds of stable and devel and
filtering out those that were upgraded in Debian after 20181015, the
only potential culprit I see is the systemd 237-3\~bpo9+1 →
239-7\~bpo9+1 upgrade, which happened on 20181009 but strictly after the
2018100901 `debian` APT snapshot.

The `devel` branch built fine until 2018-10-25, but started FTBFSing on
2018-10-26, due to a failure to apply the torbirdy `install.rdf`
patch:
P: Applying patch config/chroot_local-patches/torbirdy-60.2-compat.diff...
patching file usr/share/xul-ext/torbirdy/install.rdf
Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Assume -R? [n]
Apply anyway? [n]
Skipping patch.
1 out of 1 hunk ignored -- saving rejects to file usr/share/xul-ext/torbirdy/install.rdf.rej
This is due to the upload of torbirdy 0.2.6-1\~bpo9+1 to
stretch-backports, replacing 0.2.5-1\~bpo9+1.
Dropping the patch should be sufficient to get everything back in order.
