I suspect that doing this twice in a row might optimize things a little bit:
the second run takes the results of the first one into account.

Since a few releases, the whole file update makes the boot much slower for some
reason, and we didn't have time to investigate yet. Still, it would seem
slightly dumb to keep obsolete paths in there, while we know what the up-to-date
path is, so let's update it manually.

Like in the previous release, this just makes boot either terribly
slow or not working at all.

For some reason, this update makes the boot slow as hell, if not entirely
broken. No time to investigate this late in the release process, that'll be
worth a new ticket and let's go on.

This file contains a lot of buggy, "duplicate" lines. See
bugs/weird_squashfs.sort_entries. For 0.11 we use the old
sort file from 0.10.2.
