Install VirtualBox guest tools and kernel modules from sid · dc419888
      intrigeri authored
The version we have in our custom APT repository (6.0.12-dfsg-1) does not
compile anymore with Linux 5.4. Thankfully, the version currently in
sid (6.1.2-dfsg-1) is installable on Buster again, which was not the case when
we had to import 6.0.12-dfsg-1 into our custom APT repository.

Let's not ship both a config snippet that re-adds Thunderbird 60
(which has disappeared from the other APT sources used here)
and another one that ensures we install Thunderbird 68.

The grub version in sid supports the "probe" grub command, which allows

Install virtualbox 6.0.12-dfsg-1 from our custom APT repository (refs: #17124, #17161). · 4e378e52
      intrigeri authored
sid now has 6.0.14-dfsg-1, and virtualbox-guest-x11 6.0.14-dfsg-1 depends on
a newer libc6 than the one we have in Buster. So for now, let's stick
to an older version, which seems preferable than fully removing this package.

A cleaner solution would be to maintain a custom backport of src:virtualbox.
Last time anonym and I discussed how much resources we wanted to spend into
VirtualBox support, we decided to do it on a best effort basis, i.e. to install
it from sid when it's possible, and to drop it when it's not possible anymore.
I'm already doing a bit more than that here, so maintaining a custom backport
      seems unreasonably expensive to me.

We shall reconsider once we add Secure Boot support (the dkms module won't
be loadable anymore) or when VirtualBox has a severe security issue.

Ensure we install ibus 1.5.19-4+deb10u1.0tails1 even though its version number is lower than 1.5.19-4.0tails3 (refs: #17144)

We can drop this once the APT overlay suite that introduces
1.5.19-4+deb10u1.0tails1 (bugfix-17144-ibus-security) is merged into our
"testing" APT suite during the 4.0 release process: this will replace the now
obsolete 1.5.19-4.0tails3 packages with the updated
      1.5.19-4+deb10u1.0tails1 ones.

Test suite: install Dogtail from Bullseye and run it with Python 3 (refs: #16976) · 2ded9055
      intrigeri authored
This will give us UTF-8 support.

Note the switch from raw bytes IO to StringIO: the equivalent of what we used to
do in Python 3 is io.BytesIO(), but that won't work out of the box: the code
we're running prints strings on stdout/stderr, not bytes, and Python 3 knows
the difference. So accordingly, remove decoding of the output, since we get
      a string already.

Drop anonym's "showingOnly" patch that was merged upstream :)

Granted, the version from Buster should probably be sufficient right now, but it
probably won't be once Tor Browser gets updated to a future major Firefox ESR.

And in the meantime, this pinning discrepancy between devel and feature/buster
makes it harder to maintain our patch against
      /usr/share/webext/ublock-origin/js/background.js.
